Data Engineer

dbt Labs is a leading analytics engineering platform helping data teams transform raw data into actionable insights. They seek a Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data infrastructure, enabling business-critical analytics and operational efficiencies.

Skills

Expertise in SQL and Python.
Proficiency in an additional Data Engineering language (Scala, Java, Rust).
Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines using dbt.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across internal data systems.
Optimize query performance and manage compute costs for low-latency data access.
Identify and resolve technical debt and system bottlenecks proactively.
Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders on data requirements.
Automate data workflows to improve freshness, lineage, and monitoring.
Provide feedback by using new data infrastructure and AI technologies.

Education

Relevant degree in Computer Science or related field preferred but not mandatory.
