Darkroom is looking for a Senior Vice President of Strategy to lead the strategic and operational alignment of all client growth services. This is one of the most senior leadership positions at the company — responsible for connecting every growth discipline (Paid Media, Retention, Marketplaces & Amazon, Digital Product, and Social Commerce) into one unified product that drives transformative results for consumer brands.
You are a modern CMO at heart — a commercial operator who has run omnichannel P&Ls, managed eight-to-nine-figure budgets, and scaled brands across DTC, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and Retail. You understand how marketing, creative, and data converge to drive business growth, and you know how to translate that understanding into repeatable systems for teams to execute.
In this role, you’ll manage the full product strategy experience at Darkroom, overseeing how our departments work together to deliver exceptional results. You’ll work directly with the CEO and department heads to define service strategy, refine client delivery, and ensure that every project delivers both creative excellence and measurable revenue impact.
This role is based in New York, NY, and requires U.S. work authorization.
Own the strategic vision for omnichannel growth across DTC, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and Retail Media.
Partner with department leads (Paid Media, Retention, Marketplaces, Digital Product, Social Commerce) to integrate their functions into one cohesive client growth experience.
Develop and evolve Darkroom’s end-to-end client growth methodology, connecting brand storytelling with media efficiency and retail performance.
Oversee client strategy for the agency’s most complex brand engagements — ensuring excellence across marketing, operations, and financial outcomes.
Advise executive-level clients (Founders, CMOs, PE/VC partners) on go-to-market strategy, channel mix, and scalable marketing investment models.
Partner with the data and analytics function to evolve measurement frameworks (MMM, MTA, incrementality) that unify performance reporting across all sales channels.
Partner with our VP of Operations and Technology team to design the best product/services experience at an agency in the world.
Manage the five to six departments that drive Darkroom’s growth engine — Paid Media, Retention, Marketplaces/Amazon, Digital Product, Social Commerce, and Retail Media.
Work with each Managing Director to set annual OKRs, operational standards, and service frameworks that align with company-wide KPIs.
Translate client outcomes into departmental roadmaps — ensuring every team is delivering toward a unified revenue impact.
Audit department offerings quarterly to ensure alignment with market trends, client needs, and Darkroom’s strategic direction.
Partner with the VP of Operations and CEO to design scalable delivery systems and resourcing models across the organization.
Serve as the primary architect of Darkroom’s service product strategy, ensuring every offering is clear, differentiated, and performance-focused.
Serve as a the primary owner of client media expansion and performance.
Serve as a key stakeholder in client retention and client satisfaction.
Oversee multi-channel P&L management, integrating marketing budgets, service economics, and client ROI targets.
Partner with the CEO and Head of Finance to manage forecasting, margin improvement, and departmental performance tracking.
Lead strategic business reviews across client portfolios, identifying opportunities for margin expansion, media expansion, upsells, and new service development.
Ensure that every client engagement delivers measurable business value, demonstrated through data-backed reporting and consistent revenue growth.
Collaborate with Sales leadership to support key enterprise pitches, representing Darkroom’s holistic growth capabilities.
Serve on the executive leadership team, contributing to company vision, operations, and culture.
Mentor and develop department heads — fostering a high-performance leadership culture across all growth disciplines.
Create shared frameworks and communication systems that align cross-functional teams on KPIs, goals, and client results.
Partner with Creative leadership to ensure synergy between performance and brand marketing.
Act as a senior thought leader and external representative of Darkroom — shaping how we articulate our unique perspective on omnichannel growth.
12–15+ years of marketing leadership experience, with direct in-house experience at a consumer brand (VP or CMO level preferred).
Proven ability to manage omnichannel P&Ls and full-funnel growth across DTC, Amazon, retail, and social commerce.
Deep category familiarity in Beauty, CPG, Food & Beverage, Apparel, or Skincare.
Expertise in media measurement, MMM, attribution modeling, and marketing mix optimization.
Strong operational and commercial background — able to build scalable systems for cross-department alignment and financial performance.
Demonstrated success leading large cross-functional marketing teams and managing multiple departmental leaders.
Experience overseeing both brand and performance marketing, and uniting them under one growth strategy.
New York–based, with a deep understanding of the U.S. consumer landscape and the evolving retail and DTC ecosystems.
