Crusoe's mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We’re crafting the engine that powers a world where people can create ambitiously with AI — without sacrificing scale, speed, or sustainability.
Be a part of the AI revolution with sustainable technology at Crusoe. Here, you'll drive meaningful innovation, make a tangible impact, and join a team that’s setting the pace for responsible, transformative cloud infrastructure.
Crusoe is building the world’s favorite AI-first cloud infrastructure company — pioneering purpose-built data centers optimized for AI workloads and powered by clean energy.
We’re seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to join our fast-growing engineering organization. This role will lead the design, development, and execution of mission-critical data center infrastructure supporting Crusoe’s rapidly expanding AI compute platform.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, this leader will manage a team of electrical engineers, oversee complex data center buildouts, and drive coordination between data center and power engineering functions to ensure seamless integration and scalability across Crusoe’s global portfolio.\
Lead and scale a high-performing Data Center Engineering team responsible for designing and delivering Crusoe’s next-generation data centers.
Develop and execute conceptual designs from Front End Planning and Basis of Design (BOD) through Issued-for-Construction (IFC) stages.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, and Operations to align technical requirements and delivery schedules.
Oversee and review power system design, equipment selection, technical performance, FAT/FWT, and installation for data center builds.
Build team capabilities through mentorship, onboarding, and technical guidance — ensuring consistent engineering standards and high-quality output.
Provide technical oversight for commissioning activities involving UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and medium voltage electrical distribution.
Support reorganization and scaling efforts as Crusoe doubles its engineering capacity, integrating data center and power functions for greater efficiency.
Manage relationships with design firms, general contractors, and equipment vendors to maintain delivery timelines and technical excellence.
Serve as a bridge between Data Center and Power Engineering to ensure unified design practices, eliminate silos, and drive operational synergy.
Work closely with senior leadership to forecast resource needs and plan for sustained global growth.
10–15 years of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering focused on mission-critical, large industrial, or data center environments.
Proven leadership in managing teams of engineers and scaling organizations during high-growth phases.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline. Master Electricians will also be considered.
Deep understanding of power distribution, critical systems design, and large-scale data center infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineering talent while maintaining technical rigor and accountability.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and construction partners from concept to commissioning.
Familiarity with high-voltage and medium voltage design, utility interconnections, and commissioning protocols.
Strong project management skills and ability to navigate complex build environments with multiple stakeholders.
Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred; equivalent experience in design and leadership will be considered.
Background in data center development, ideally from leading hyperscale operators, design-build contractors, or top-tier GCs with a focus on data center delivery (e.g., DPR, Vantage, Equinix, CoreWeave).
Willingness to undergo a background check.
