Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational, music, dance, art, or recreation therapy
- Registration or eligibility for registration in the relevant therapy discipline
- Minimum two years’ experience in social or recreational programs (including 1 year full-time in a healthcare client activities program) within the past five years
- Strong program design, group facilitation, and activity planning skills
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Effective communication, leadership, and collaboration in behavioral health settings
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage a year-round recreational program including hobbies, interest groups, physical activities, events, and holiday programming
- Integrate recreational activities with behavioral skill-building, medication support, dietary teaching, and pre-vocational training
- Collaborate with clinical teams, peer providers, and family partners to promote recovery-oriented programming
- Plan schedules, coordinate staff and volunteers, and ensure safe supervision of group activities
- Maintain program documentation, attendance records, and outcome tracking consistent with facility policies
- Ensure activities meet client needs, support independence, and foster community reintegration
Education
- Bachelor’s degree as an occupational therapist, music therapist, dance therapist, art therapist, or recreation therapist
- Registration or eligibility for registration in the relevant therapy discipline
