Director of Nursing - job 1 of 2

Crestwood is a long-established behavioral health provider focused on recovery-oriented care and community-based supports. The Director of Nursing will lead and coordinate all nursing functions at the San Jose Psychiatric Health Facility, ensure regulatory compliance, drive quality improvement activities, supervise nursing staff, and collaborate with clinical and operational teams to support client care and referral development.

Skills

  • Current California RN licensure
  • CPR and first aid certification
  • Knowledge of behavioral health and psychiatric nursing practices
  • Experience with regulatory compliance (licensing, accrediting bodies)
  • Proven leadership and staff supervision skills
  • Experience implementing quality improvement processes
  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all nursing functions including infection control, pharmacy, laboratory, medical records, quality assurance, and staff education
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, accrediting and program policies and timely completion of required reporting
  • Maintain and oversee quality improvement programs and regulatory readiness
  • Supervise, mentor and evaluate nursing staff; manage staffing and scheduling
  • Collaborate with leadership on clinical policies, budget considerations and resource allocation
  • Support marketing and networking efforts with referral sources and community partners
  • Oversee staff training, continuing education and competency development
  • Participate in incident review, root cause analysis and corrective action planning

Education

  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Advanced nursing or healthcare management degree preferred but not required
