This role focuses on power distribution, lighting, grounding/bonding, special systems (e.g., telecom/data, security, fire alarm), raceways, cable trays, and other building support systems.

Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will contribute to all phases of design—from conceptual development to construction administration. You will also assist with engineering calculations, documentation, and coordination with internal teams and external partners. This position offers opportunities for mentorship, professional development, and hands-on experience in advanced technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute electrical design tasks under the supervision of a senior engineer.
  • Design electrical systems of basic complexity in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform engineering calculations including illumination, power load, conduit and wire sizing, short circuit, and voltage drop.
  • Develop technical documentation such as one-line diagrams, basis of design reports, specifications, and installation details.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated and constructible designs.
  • Utilize BIM and CAD software for modeling and documentation.
  • Conduct field investigations to assess existing conditions and integrate new designs.
  • Support construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and contribute to the production of high-quality deliverables.
  • Mentor entry-level engineers and interns.
  • Assist in project programming and master planning with guidance from senior staff.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously as directed by a supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Technology (ABET-accredited).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with GMP manufacturing environments.
  • Basic experience in electrical system design and engineering calculations.
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, IEEE).
  • Understanding of applicable building codes.
  • Ability to interface with clients and external partners.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and project execution.
  • Experience conducting field surveys and supporting field reporting.
  • Strong coordination skills across disciplines and with construction trade partners.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical design calculations under supervision.
