Skills
- Experience with vehicle systems and automotive diagnostic standards (SAE J1939, J1979, KWP/2000, UDS, ISO 27145)
- Familiarity with physical layers such as CAN bus, K-Line, VPW/PWM, Single Wire CAN
- Competence with vehicle interfacing, automotive diagnostic and analysis tools
- Proficient scripting skills (Python, Matlab) and embedded C/C++ knowledge
- Experience with software development workflows and SQL/Google BigQuery
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills
- People management and project management abilities
- Ability to influence and communicate across organizational levels
Responsibilities
- Coach, mentor, and lead a sub-team within the Vehicle Systems Engineering global team
- Collaborate with internal teams including embedded development, hardware engineering, and product development
- Manage team expectations related to task assignments and Agile workflow participation
- Guide team members in implementing industry standard and proprietary vehicle data
- Utilize BigQuery and Google Cloud for vehicle data analysis and gap identification
- Support and contribute to reverse engineering software tooling
- Provide expert project leadership and oversight of direct reports’ performance
- Develop training resources and documentation for the reverse engineering ecosystem
- Engage in strategic planning and support global initiatives
- Foster team growth through coaching, feedback, and career development
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
