Vehicle Maintenance Program Manager
Skills
- 5+ years fleet maintenance or vehicle service operations experience
- Experience managing medium-duty commercial fleet maintenance across multiple locations
- Certified or familiar with DOT inspections and FMCSA regulations
- Knowledge of diesel systems, reefer units, CAN bus diagnostics, and vehicle sensors
- Experience with fleet management platforms such as Fleetio, Samsara, Geotab
- Strong vendor management and negotiation capabilities
- Proficient in maintenance planning and diagnostics
- Organized, analytical, proactive with data-informed problem solving
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
Responsibilities
- Own and operate end-to-end vehicle maintenance program for North American fleet
- Manage preventive maintenance schedules, unscheduled repairs, and service documentation
- Coordinate with third-party service providers, OEMs, and mobile maintenance vendors
- Ensure compliance with DOT and CMV regulations including inspections and documentation
- Utilize tools like Fleetio, Samsara for maintenance workflow and fault reporting
- Establish and enforce standard operating procedures for maintenance teams and partners
- Monitor fleet health metrics and produce maintenance performance and cost reports
- Collaborate with Engineering and Field Operations on vehicle upgrades and deployments
- Perform diagnostics, inspections, and component replacement during escalations
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, automation, and vendor performance improvement
- Act as escalation point for off-hours or regional service issues
Education
- Trade school certification or equivalent hands-on technical experience is a plus
