Automation & Applied AI Intern (Summer 2026)

What You Will Do

• Design, build, and extend AI agents to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Apply Generative AI and machine learning models to solve complex challenges and support various business functions.
• Collaborate across teams to identify automation opportunities and integrate AI tools into existing infrastructure.
• Analyze large datasets to extract insights and support data-driven decision-making.
• Research emerging AI and automation technologies to recommend best practices and contribute to innovation.
• Document workflows, participate in technical discussions, and support dashboard/reporting tool development.

How You Will Do It

• Collaborating with mentors and team members on AI and automation projects, as well as participating in meetings and feedback sessions.
• Applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to break down complex challenges into actionable tasks.
• Developing AI solutions using tools like Python, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, while following best practices in code quality and documentation.
• Communicating progress and findings effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrating adaptability by learning new technologies and proposing innovative ideas during brainstorming sessions.
• Managing time efficiently, taking ownership of responsibilities, and contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

What We Look For

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science or Information Technology.
• Ability to be in the greater Milwaukee area in the summer.
• Duration: Summer 2026. Up to 40 hours per week. Part-time during the school year may be available.
• Working Arrangements: Hybrid internship – must have a quiet workspace away from interruptions, with the option to work in the office. Be able to maintain regular contact with the supervisor/team via virtual methods.
