About the role
Reporting to the Head of Vibe, we’re looking for a seasoned and strategic Events Lead to join Canva’s Workplace Experience (WPX) team, part of our Vibe team. This role is responsible for shaping and executing our internal global events strategy, from milestone moments, global celebrations, to company-wide cultural activations. You'll lead a team of Events & Activations Specialists and work closely with stakeholders across Vibe, Internal Comms, Brand, Finance, and Executive Operations to bring meaningful experiences to life for Canvanauts around the world.
You’ll drive the planning, production, and delivery of high-impact internal events, while also leading and developing a high-performing team. You'll set clear priorities, support career growth, and ensure delivery standards are consistently high across all events. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with both strategic influence and operational ownership.
What you’ll do
In this role, you’ll lead the strategy and execution of Canva’s most important internal events. From large-scale company moments to thoughtful culture-building activations, you’ll take ownership of the entire process, ensuring every event is meaningful, scalable, and aligned with our values.
Lead, coach, and develop a global events team, ensuring clear priorities, strong collaboration, and a culture of growth and accountability.
Lead the end-to-end delivery of global internal events, ensuring strong alignment to Canva’s culture, values, and business goals.
Develop and manage the annual cadence and strategic plan for company-wide events.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define event goals, timelines, budgets, and success metrics.
Oversee the implementation and optimisation of events management systems, templates, and processes.
Partner with Vibe teams across regions to deliver consistent experiences that reflect local needs.
Build tools, templates, and playbooks that enable self-service for internal teams.
Coach and develop a team of Events & Activations Specialists, managing capacity and resourcing.
Provide guidance and oversight on vendor management, budget ownership, and operational best practices.
What we’re looking for
Extensive experience in workplace experience including delivering large-scale, complex internal events for employees across regions or time zones (100–5000+ attendees),
Proven ability to lead strategy and execution across multiple events concurrently, including at times rolling up your sleeves into the doing.
Deep knowledge of end-to-end events operations including logistics, comms, production, and hybrid/virtual delivery.
Experience managing budgets, vendors, and internal stakeholder relationships.
Skilled at leading high-performing teams and mentoring event specialists.
Creative and culture-minded, with a strong point of view on how to bring values to life through experience.
Data-driven mindset with ability to track impact, engagement, and ROI.
Experience implementing and optimising events management platforms.
Excellent communicator with strong executive presence and cross-functional collaboration skills.
