Responsibilities
- Prototype and implement privacy-enhancing features in C++ for the Chromium-based Brave browser
- Reverse-engineer and debug complex JavaScript/HTML/CSS interactions that conflict with privacy protections
- Develop categorical privacy improvements and apply targeted fixes for website compatibility
- Collaborate asynchronously with a geographically distributed engineering team
- Work publicly on GitHub: manage changes via Git, review PRs, and participate in open source workflows
- Document technical work clearly for both engineering and public audiences
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience (preferred)
- Relevant self-directed learning, open source contributions, or industry experience accepted in lieu of formal degree
