AI Engineer

Bobsled builds AI-powered analytics that convert natural language into accurate, production-grade insights for enterprise customers. We're hiring a hands-on AI Engineer to own text-to-SQL accuracy, design evaluation and experimentation loops, ship production code, and partner with engineering and customers to improve semantic models and SQL generation.

Skills

2+ years in ML/AI or data-focused engineering or data science building production systems
Experience tuning LLM applications: prompt engineering, retrieval, agent design, or evals
Strong hands-on coding in Python; TypeScript familiarity a plus
Production ML engineering practices: testing, CI, observability, performance, deployment
Comfort with SQL, complex data modeling, and familiarity with data warehouses and pipelines
Ability to design experiments, quantify improvements, and communicate trade-offs

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end text-to-SQL accuracy: design evaluations, iterate prompts, and improve retrieval/routing
Build and operate experimentation and evaluation loops including automatic evals, regression suites, and dataset curation
Design pragmatic LLM application architectures (RAG, agent routing, tool orchestration) optimized for accuracy and latency
Ship and support production-grade code; instrument, monitor, and troubleshoot model behavior in customer environments
Partner with engineering and customers to improve semantic models, SQL generation, and data alignment
Create user feedback loops to capture issues and convert them into measurable improvements
Automate environment provisioning and dev workflows to enable fast iteration

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience
Continued learning or coursework in ML, data systems, or NLP preferred
