Nursing Department Manager RN, NICU Evening


Avant Tech is actively recruiting a skilled Nursing Department Manager for a prestigious Level III NICU in a Magnet‑recognized, CCS‑certified hospital in Los Angeles. This is an evening shift role (approx 12 pm–8:30 pm) overseeing a 49‑bed NICU, offering excellent compensation and bonus opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead evening operations in the Level III NICU (49 beds)
  • Oversee patient care delivery, staffing, scheduling, and clinical performance
  • Ensure compliance with Magnet standards, CCS requirements, and nursing best practices
  • Mentor, coach, and evaluate the nursing team
  • Partner with physicians, unit leadership, and clinical educators
  • Address safety, quality, and patient experience goals on shift

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven ability to lead and develop clinical teams
  • Strong understanding of neonatal nursing quality metrics
  • Excellent communication and interprofessional collaboration skills
  • Commitment to continuous nursing improvement and patient care excellence

  • Current RN license in California
  • 5+ years NICU clinical nursing experience, including 3+ years in NICU leadership/management
  • BSN or MSN, graduate of accredited nursing school
  • RNC‑NIC certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience managing in a Level III NICU environment
