Engineering Internship at Continental is a once in a lifetime opportunity to support a new facility start-up located in New Braunfels, Texas. The $110 million facility will manufacture Advanced Driver Assistance Systems for automated and assisted driving. The Facilities-Kaizen Internship position is a developmental role to gain practical experience in technical functions and support the needs of the department. In this capacity, the Facilities-Kaizen Engineering Intern will contribute to successful operations for the new facility site. This position is scheduled to last 12 weeks in length from May 18, 2026-August 7, 2026.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Drive safety, quality, productivity, cost, and Kaizen improvements for the plant
• Participate in problem solving activities employing various problem-solving techniques (5 Why, 8 D, Cause and Effect, and Fishbone Diagrams, etc.) to drive problems to permanent corrective action.
• Assist in a variety of facilities setup and improvement projects
• Support other Engineering duties and projects as assigned
OUTCOMES:
The Facilities-Kaizen Engineering Intern can expect to gain practical experience in a broad range of Industrial Engineering focused functions including:
• Gain deep knowledge in different technical aspects of continuous improvement (kaizen)
• Gain deep knowledge in project management for facilities topics
• Practice and improve problem solving skills
• Currently enrolled in an accredited University Degree Program
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or other related studies
• 3.0 overall GPA or higher
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
