Anthos Capital is a team of quiet capitalists making high-conviction investments in category-defining companies at key inflection points. Anthos was founded in 2007 by two best friends who met at Goldman Sachs and Stanford. Today, we manage nearly $3B across five funds and operate as a tight-knit team of ~30, built for impact, not scale. As founders, operators, and obsessive builders ourselves, we show up early, dig deep, and stay focused. Our passion lies in backing founder-led businesses that consumers love. The Anthos Consumer Lab (ACL) extends this mission by drawing on the perspectives of the next generation. It is a collective of selected college students who are cultural enthusiasts and digital natives with a pulse on shifting tastes, trends, and behaviors. The ACL is designed to bring together like-minded individuals, surface extraordinary consumer brands and technology businesses, and build meaningful relationships that bridge cultural insight with investment expertise.
Our vision is to spark authentic conversation and connection between venture capitalists, cultural tastemakers, and digital natives. We chose the word “lab” because it represents a space where ideas can be discovered, challenged, and proven. At its core, the ACL is about exploring the signals where capital meets culture and giving students a seat at the table in shaping how the next generation of standout companies is identified and supported.

Participation Expectations:

Kick-off and onboarding will take place on September 27, 2024
Each week, members will engage with one another on brands and trends
Members are expected to submit two company ideas per week via Slack
Active participation in discussions on emerging companies and insights is required
Monthly ACL investor forums will be held on Zoom to explore trends and companies in depth
All participants are expected to come prepared to contribute thoughtful perspectives
Quarterly “Substack Clubs” will provide an opportunity to examine consumer trends and behaviors together
