- Advanced structural analysis for metallic and composite structures
- Extensive FEM modeling experience (load development, stress/strain, modal analysis)
- Experience defining loads and translating CFD/aero inputs into structural requirements
- Test definition and oversight for structural verification
- Cross-functional collaboration across product, engineering, logistics and operations
- Ability to manage technical ownership of complex components and assemblies
- Eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Define structural architecture tradeoffs and communicate pros/cons across stakeholders
- Collaborate with aero/CFD teams to define loads for vehicle structures and subsystems
- Create and maintain integrated finite element models (FEMs) for maritime platforms
- Perform design development and verification analyses to meet customer requirements
- Develop tools and reports to communicate loads and analysis results across teams
- Present technical status, risks and inputs at formal internal and customer reviews
- Define test models, test loads and margins; oversee and support structural testing
- Act as technical owner for structural components and assemblies throughout lifecycle
- Mentor and interview team members; help attract and grow technical talent
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering or a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
