- Energy storage system design and testing expertise
- Battery test equipment competence (cyclers, thermal chambers, health testers)
- Knowledge of electrochemical energy storage materials and operation limits
- Battery management system hardware and firmware knowledge
- Battery characterization techniques and safety standards familiarity
- Experience with safety standards like UN38.3, NAVSEA S9310, UL, IEC
Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end energy storage system development on accelerated timelines
- Collaborate with program teams to define actionable ESS requirements from user stories and CONOPs
- Develop ESS requirements and validate battery cell selection
- Design and contribute to battery management system hardware, firmware, and software
- Plan and execute cell, module, and pack level validation and testing
- Support vehicle integration and system bring-up processes
- Manage ramp from development units to production scale
- Sustain fielded ESS systems with root cause analysis and design updates as needed
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physical Sciences with applied energy storage focus
