Join us as a Senior Partner Solutions Architect, where you'll leverage your deep technical expertise and understanding of defense systems to help America's leading aerospace and defense organizations architect mission-critical solutions on AWS.
In this role, you'll work directly with major defense industrial base contractors, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the US Intelligence Community (IC) to architect and enable the implementation of innovative cloud solutions while ensuring technical excellence, security compliance, and mission success. You'll work with teams to deliver proof-of-concept projects, lead workshops, and guide transformative initiatives. You'll also have the chance to collaborate across the entire AWS organization, bringing access to product and service teams in order to deliver the right solutions and drive feature innovation based on customer needs.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.
Please note that this is not a remote position. Due to the nature of the work, the selected candidate will be on-site alongside our partners and must live within (or be willing to relocate to) the metropolitan Melbourne area. Travel of up to 30% can be expected.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable AWS architectures for mission-critical defense and intelligence applications
- Collaborate with defense contractors, DoD agencies, and IC organizations to meet stringent security and compliance requirements
- Lead technical discussions with senior military and intelligence officials
- Develop and review architectural artifacts suitable for classified environments
- Ensure solutions meet or exceed DoD cybersecurity standards and IC directives
- Provide guidance on the implementation of Zero Trust architectures in classified environments
- Contribute to the development of AWS services tailored for defense and intelligence use cases

- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
- Experience with DoD Special Access Programs (SAP)
- Prior work experience within the defense industrial base
- AWS Professional and/or Specialty level certifications (Solutions Architect, Security, Networking)
- Proven track record of leading large-scale information technology initiatives for highly secure environments
- Understanding of DoD and IC security requirements and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, DISA SRG, CMMC, ICD 503, JSIG)
- Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, and other relevant regulatory frameworks

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
