Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer in Procurement at Agilent, you will support manufacturing operations by improving products, processes, and applications to meet performance, cost, and quality objectives. You’ll play a key role in new product introductions, ensuring designs are manufacturable and aligned with global supply chain capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with R&D and suppliers to optimize product design for manufacturability, cost, and quality.

  • Support product lifecycle transitions from prototype to full-scale production.

  • Utilize digital tools to enhance manufacturing processes and data analytics.

  • Manage ERP data including bill of materials and routing.

  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

  • Lead or contribute to specialized engineering functions such as:

    • Materials Engineering: Source and qualify materials, recommend alternatives, and ensure alignment with design and cost goals.

    • Fabrication Engineering: Develop and refine microarray fabrication tools and processes, monitor performance, and support new technology deployment.

    • Software Engineering: Design and maintain software for automated manufacturing systems to ensure high-throughput and reliability.

    • Data Analytics Engineering: Develop software and reporting tools to support cost-effective and compliant manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience.

  • Proficiency in CAD, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

  • Experience with GC systems, liners, and syringes.

  • Strong analytical skills with statistical and computer-based tools.

  • Effective communication, networking, and project management capabilities.

  • Demonstrated leadership in NPI, cost reduction, and quality improvement initiatives.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $97,920.00 - $153,000.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
