Skills
- 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin
- Experience building highly available distributed systems (AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes)
- Proven ability to define technical plans and deliver significant features or components with extensible designs
- Comfort making large codebase changes safely with tooling and practices for testing, review and deployment
- Strong verbal and written communication to collaborate across a global engineering organization
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team, guiding engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems
- Collaborate with product, design and analytics to shape features, articulate technical constraints, and weigh trade-offs
- Proactively identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, or business issues
- Support operations and availability through metrics, monitoring, escalation, and on-call participation
- Define and improve code review and design standards; advocate for quality and engineering best practices
- Mentor and develop talent on the team by providing feedback, guidance and technical leadership
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
