Job Description

AECOM is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for a Transportation Planner to join our innovative and dynamic team in Franklin, TN. We’re looking for a creative and self-driven professional to join our transportation planning group. You’ll be at the forefront of pioneering projects that utilize the latest technologies to enhance all forms of transportation. 

  • Manages complex planning studies, development applications and reviews.
  • Reviews and processes complex comprehensive plan amendments, rezoning, annexations, site plans and plats.
  • Conducts research and prepares statistical reports on land use, physical, social and economic issues.
  • Provides professional planning assistance to member communities on varied land use and transportation projects.
  • Develops plans, studies, and analyses on a regional basis.
  • Works in regional program areas relating to natural/water resources planning, community development, hazard mitigation, coastal zone management, and others.
  • Performs field inspections to gather data relevant to the development review process and/or to verify that development projects comply with approved plans.
  • Conducts meetings and presents reports and other findings to staff with advisory boards, and elected officials.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, Engineering or a related field
  • 4 years of experience in transportation planning or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Transportation Planning or related field
  • 6 years of experience in transportation planning
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team setting
  • Basic experience with GIS analysis
