The Neurotoxin Research Group at AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated and innovative candidate for the role of Scientist II, Biological Research. The successful candidate for this position will be a technical expert in their field and will play a critical role in pharmacological characterization of protein-based therapeutics. He/she/they will be required to work independently on a variety of in vitro cell-based pharmacology assays to characterize and evaluate biological compounds. This individual will have strong background in scientific research, with the ability to organize, analyze and interpret results, come forward with recommendations including presenting findings to senior personnel or in team meetings. Experience in mammalian cell culture, cell-based pharmacological assays and immunoassays (ELISA, Western blot) are required. Experience with 3D-cultures/ organoids, flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques, as well as other laboratory techniques is an advantage. Working knowledge of neuroscience and/or pharmacology is a plus. The successful candidate will be collaborating extensively with other Research Associates and Scientists in a multidisciplinary team, while taking personal responsibility for the success of assigned tasks and projects.
